Sunday School

I thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me this opportunity to share a few thoughts about our Sunday School.

The Denver Salem Church of God was started in the year 2013. We were first gathering in the basement and had only a handful of members. God opened a way through the Church of God overseer and he was able to give us a room in the Valley view church to have our Sunday services. Slowly more people started to attend our church and become members and the number of kids in our church increased.

While we were meeting at Valley View church Pastor Mark said we could use their conference room for teaching Sunday school. The Sunday School was officially started in the year 2016. At that time we had 6 children ranging from ages 3 to 8 attending the Sunday school. We only had one class and one teacher. By the grace of God our Sunday school has grown since and now we have 15 kids and two classes. The Sunday school is held every Sunday morning before Sunday service. We also conduct Sunday school anniversary every year. We have kids do different programs and award them for the good work they have done throughout the year.

The lessons taught to the kids are based on the foundations of the Holy Bible. Sunday School offers an opportunity to help shape children in their formative years to become what God would have them be.  Children are given the chance to learn the values and habits that will follow them the rest of their lives. We teach the students in English. Recently we have been including the Sunday school kids to sing with the choir during English worship session. We also have the kids recite their memory verses after the worship. Our goal is to involve the children in every aspect of Sunday service so they can grow to become God fearing Christians.

I praise and thank God for opening doors for our children to learn the word of God in the only Indian Pentecostal church in Denver. I pray that we are able to grow the Sunday school in the future and that it will continue to be a blessing to the church, children and their families.
